This week some of the year 6 classes are starting a watercolor painting which focuses on positive and negative space.
I am so proud of my pupils for creating such unique and individual sculptures. Each bird has its own personality and this reflects the diversity and creativity of each child. This has been a great project, and I am so glad the result reflects all the hard work that was put in!
Once pupils had completed their water colour portraits and were familiar with the proportions of the face, we moved on to tonal pencil drawings. I decided to have the pupils only draw half the face, because they were focused on making both sides of the face completely symmetrical, and this would help them move past that and look more closely at the forms and shapes of the facial features.
