School food directly affects students’ health, learning, and lifetime wellness habits. It can also play a powerful role in driving positive change in our nation’s food systems. We have therefore been working to promote our health and wellbeing within school by doing a series of events. This week we have been discussing the impact of healthy eating on our energy levels and lifestyle. Pupils have been keeping a food diary and have been encouraged to cut back on sugary snacks in favour of a healthier option. Students have really entered into the spirit of this, organizing Healthy class breakfasts and lunches and engaging in more physical activities. #healthybodyhealthymind
Hello everybody, my name is Lyanne Fellows. I am a mum to an 8 year old boy and five year old boy and girl twins. Before moving back to the North East I worked in Dubai as a teacher of Art and Graphic Design and acting Head of Department. This was a move prompted by having twins and not wanting to give up my teaching job. Before having my twins I was head of art and a teacher trainer working for 6 years with a cluster of academies in the Midlands. I am now doing cover work in Newcastle upon Tyne and looking out for a position that is right for me to develop and share my vision with. I am really excited for another fun filled year.
