Week Without Walls was an opportunity for the students to leave the classrooms and spend time undertaking curriculum related activities within the wider school community and off school site. This week created team spirit by travelling as far as Kalbur, Abu Dabi and Borneo. Some Grade 7-9 students spent the week job shadowing to get experience of the working world this was such a fun week and a great way to get to know students outside of the classroom setting..
We decided to do giant sidewalk chalk drawings for our week without walls. This project was a collaborative piece through FS2- Year 6, and was a brief to decorate the floor for the up and coming Vegetable garden sale. The children really enjoyed each lesson; getting very messy and working with one another to create some large scale artwork. This was a great day and the students loved moving out of their usual environment and having the freedom to let their imaginations take over!
Hello everybody, my name is Lyanne Fellows. I am a mum to an 8 year old boy and five year old boy and girl twins. Before moving back to the North East I worked in Dubai as a teacher of Art and Graphic Design and acting Head of Department. This was a move prompted by having twins and not wanting to give up my teaching job. Before having my twins I was head of art and a teacher trainer working for 6 years with a cluster of academies in the Midlands. I am now doing cover work in Newcastle upon Tyne and looking out for a position that is right for me to develop and share my vision with. I am really excited for another fun filled year.
