Today we took 40 pupils from year 2 to year 9 out to take part in a competition for World Colouring Day. Children became immersed in their own colourful imaginary worlds and translated them onto paper using a range of medias. They did amazingly well and represented the school so well, creating some fantastic artwork
The theme for this year's World Kids Colouring Day was 'Funny Animals', children were invited to embark on a journey through the animal world. Whether their pictures tell of an exciting trip on land, by sea or through the air, a journey undertaken together with friends, parents or grandparents with the starring roles in their works of art played by fish, birds or lions – creativity knows no bounds!
I love how everything revolves around creativity in events like this, It allows children to become aware of social involvement in a playful way.
The teachers also had fun painting a canvas to auction off for charity. A great day all around.
Donations from the event and auction will go towards Save the Children’s programs, working towards ensuring that every child enjoys a safe and happy childhood and reaches their full potential. For every dollar raised from World Kids Colouring Day, STAEDTLER will match it, with 100% going to Save the Children
Hello everybody, my name is Lyanne Fellows. I am a mum to an 8 year old boy and five year old boy and girl twins. Before moving back to the North East I worked in Dubai as a teacher of Art and Graphic Design and acting Head of Department. This was a move prompted by having twins and not wanting to give up my teaching job. Before having my twins I was head of art and a teacher trainer working for 6 years with a cluster of academies in the Midlands. I am now doing cover work in Newcastle upon Tyne and looking out for a position that is right for me to develop and share my vision with. I am really excited for another fun filled year.
