For this lesson lesson Graphic design students worked with KS2 students to encourage literacy by working with them on an extreme read challenge. Students were asked to select a book to read and create an extreme background for them to be placed in. KS3 options students then went and directed students into positions to match the chosen backgrounds. They then used digital manipulation pixlr to layer these onto their extreme background. These were then printed and placed into students classrooms to promote reading.
Students were given some apples to do as they like with. The brief was to create a promotional add for anything using their apple as a starting point. They began planning and researching ideas before taking their photos and manipulating them on Pixlr.
These pictures were inspiration for my next project. Using geometric shapes to move or rotate parts of an image. Pupils had the choice to complete this digitally on Pixlr or using magazine or photos. Students that wanted to push themselves created their own photos to work from thinking about the horizon line and contrast.
This weeks brief was based on geometric shapes, rotation and alignment. Students started off with internet imagery and developed this by taking their own photos to work with .
