Following the Assessment objectives students are selecting options classes at year 9 level and doing termly rotations to have taster sessions in preparation for year 10 GCSE's. This is really successful and is taking out students that have little interest in the subject and focusing these with a passion or interest. having the course as a GCSE introduction also gives pupils a greater sense of pride and responsibility in their outcomes.
Term 2 GCSE Introduction observational work
Pupils should be taught to develop their creativity and ideas, and increase proficiency in their execution. They should develop a critical understanding of artists, architects and designers, expressing reasoned judgements that can inform their own work.
